Audiology Cymru conference, demonstrating excellent links between Swansea University and the Health Boards in Wales

On Friday 23rd June, the College of Human and Health Sciences at Swansea University hosted the very successful national event for Audiologists across Wales.

Audiology Conference 2017

Audiology Cymru was held in the Great Hall at the Bay Campus on Friday 23rd June. Barry Bardsley and Paul Stokes from the College of Human and Health Sciences were part of the organising committee for this national event.

Audiologists from around Wales provided feedback on the venue and facilities and were very complimentary. The agenda was a blend of research, service improvement and innovation in service delivery. Rob Orford, the newly appointed Chief Scientific Officer for Wales, gave the keynote speech. Lewis Ablett, a third year undergraduate dissertation student supervised by Barry Bardsley, won the best poster prize with his poster on ‘The effect of auditory priming on speech perception in noise’. Many students helped with the operational activities on the day and the team are incredibly grateful for their efforts. An excellent event demonstrating the great links between Swansea University and the Health Boards in Wales.
