Andrew Kemp receives award for journalistic excellence from the Welsh Editor of The Conversation

Associate Professor in Psychology & Research Lead for the Health and Wellbeing Academy, Andrew Kemp, has received the Welsh Editor’s Award for Journalistic Excellence for his recently published article in The Conversation, provocatively titled: From decapitation to positive psychology: how one nerve connects body, brain and mind.

Swansea University recently celebrated a year with The Conversation during which time more than 100 articles have been published by academics at the university. The Conversation is an online source of media, that supports academics wanting to disseminate their research findings and outcomes to the broader community.

Andrew’s article in The Conversation builds on his recent scientific publications including two published reviews of his work in Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews – and a book chapter published by Springer Press.

This work including the lay press article in The Conversation, builds a case for a new transdisciplinary science of health and wellbeing, linking psychological moments to mortality spanning the disciplines of psychological science and epidemiology.
