After raising money for 2 Wish Upon a Star back in May at a cake sale, our S11 child nursing group were pleased to welcome Rhian, the founder of the charity, to talk about promoting working together to support bereaved parents who lose a child suddenly and traumatically.
Rhian set up the charity after her son, George, tragically passed away a week after his first birthday in February 2012. Five days later, she lost her husband and best friend Paul. Coming to terms with this loss and grief was very tough for Rhian and her family.
2 Wish Upon A Star recently made an impact by delivering memory boxes, clothing and teddy elephants to the A&E Department of the Royal Glamorgan Hospital earlier this month, and have also been collecting blankets from volunteers. They have also started on their aim to provide a professional counselling service for bereaved parents.
