Fundamentals of Community Practice (SPQ)/Foundations of Community Care (Non SPQ)

Available at Level 6 (SHG3041) and Level 7 (SHNM21) - 30 credit points

Module aim

Welsh Government introduced a modular framework in 2011 so that anyone working in a community setting, who does not have a recordable SPQ, is able to consider undertaking a module designed to meet the needs of those working in the community. HEIW commissioned by WG are prepared to support your course fees but there is NO BACKFILL, hence you must receive your line manager’s support to access the module.

The module is completed over a 15 week period where there are both theory and practice outcomes to achieve. There are ten study days, five of which are completely flexible, utilising a flipped classroom approach which encourages independent learning. The module is supported through the electronic blackboard site and Pebblepad to enable a more positive experience.

In order to meet the Standards for Learning and Assessment in Practice (as dictated by the NMC), each student will be supported by an appropriately qualified practitioner.

The module can be studied as a discrete module or as part of a full award.
