Course Overview

This full-time, one-year osteopathy course will give you the opportunity to convert a previously held diploma in Osteopathy to an honours degree (which has 360 UK CATS / 180 ECTS). The complete programme will be taught at ASOMI's Torino Campus in Turin, Italy in partnership with Swansea University and is not open to students from the UK.

The ASOMI Conversion Programme has adhered to Swansea University's academic and professional expectations alongside those of the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC UK), the Forum for Osteopathic Regulation in Europe (FORE) and The World Health Organisation (WHO), in order to meet their professional expected benchmarks. Successful graduates may find that this programme could facilitate their individual application process for inclusion on to any National Register including that of the GOsC (UK).

Your experience

This full-time, one-year conversion programme will be taught at ASOMI's Torino Campus in Turin, Italy in partnership with Swansea University. ASOMI’s location in the Olympic Palace, provides an ideal setting for students. The school’s facilities boast six large and dedicated theoretical and practical lecture rooms, a library, a gym and an osteopathic clinic that provides osteopathic health care to the general public.

Entry Requirements

This programme is not open to UK applicants.

You must be a practising Osteopath who has completed a diploma programme in the last four years and who is able to demonstrate that their previous osteopathic diploma study is equivalent to that currently offered at ASOMI. 

All successful applicants must complete of a self-declaration of good health and good character on enrolment to the programme. You will also be interviewed for a place on the programme in order to assess your suitability to meet its aims.

Since the course will be partially taught and assessed in English, you must be able to demonstrate a good use of oral and written English.

How You're Taught

   

This course offers some modules taught through the medium of Welsh or bilingually for students who consider themselves to be fluent Welsh speakers. For more details on the provision available see the Welsh Provision expander below.

There are opportunities for Welsh speakers to study some elements of this course through the medium of Welsh but there is not yet enough provision to reach 40 credits in each year.

Additional Costs

Access to your own digital device/the appropriate IT kit will be essential during your time studying at Swansea University. Access to wifi in your accommodation will also be essential to allow you to fully engage with your programme. You may face additional costs while at university, including (but not limited to):

Study Abroad and Global Opportunities

Spaces are limited and subject to a competitive selection process. In the event you do not secure a semester/year abroad placement, you will be transferred to the standard variant of your degree scheme without a semester or year abroad.
