Professor Dr Badran Al-Omar

Professor Dr Badran Al-Omar‌Professor Dr Badran Al-Omar graduated from Swansea University in 1995 with a Doctorate of Philosophy in Health and Hospital Administration from the School of Human and Health Sciences.  He is the Rector of King Saud University (KSU), the leading knowledge-sharing university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  He is an authority on the subject of Hospital and Health Administration, having dedicated his academic career to further understanding and improving this crucial sector. 

Presenting the award, Swansea University Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Iwan Davies said: “Professor Al-Omar’s plans in his role as Rector of KSU, one of the world’s foremost universities, reflect the values that have served him throughout his life: excellence, innovation and the sharing of knowledge for future generations.  We at Swansea University are proud to number him amongst our Alumni.”

On receiving his award, Professor Dr Badran Al-Omar said: "It is a privilege to be receiving this Honorary Degree from such a well respected University."​
