Debra Williams

Debra Williams‌Debra Williams is one of Britain’s leading businesswomen.  She lives in South Wales and consults with companies both in the UK, Europe and the US.  She has held a number of senior roles and has worked at management level at some the UK’s best-known businesses including Confused.com and Tesco Compare. 

She was Welsh Woman of the Year for Innovation in 2006, and was recognised as one of the UK’s top 200 business women by the Queen in February 2007.  She is a sponsor and mentor for the young entrepreneur academy at Swansea University.

Professor Hilary Lappin-Scott, Pro-Vice-Chancellor – Research and Innovation and Strategic Development at Swansea University, presented the award.  She said: “Debra Williams has exhibited extraordinary prowess in her career in building effective business relationships and delivering successful results. She is an inspirational figure and it is with great pleasure that we accept her as a member of this University.” 

On receiving her award, Ms Williams said: “I am both humbled and honoured to be presented with this award. Swansea University is an understated asset to both the South Wales economy and our communities, achieving much in promoting both the Swansea Region and Wales.

“It has been a privilege to contribute to the game-changing work the University is undertaking in the areas of employability and entrepreneurship. I am proud to be associated with the University and look forward to continuing working with them in the future.”
