The Rt. Hon. Sir David Lloyd Jones
The Rt. Hon. Sir David Lloyd Jones was born in Pontypridd. His career began when he was called to the Bar, Middle Temple in 1975. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1999. He was a Deputy High Court Judge from 2001 to 2005 and Chair of the Bar European Group (2004-5). In October 2005, he was appointed a High Court Judge of the Queen’s Bench Division. From 2008 to 2011 he was Presiding Judge of Wales and Chair of the Lord Chancellor’s Standing Committee on the Welsh Language. In 2012 he was appointed Chairman of the Law Commission, establishing the Welsh Advisory Committee of the Law Commission to consider the laws produced by the Assembly.
