Gordon Thomas Stuart

Gordon Thomas Stuart is a Canadian-born, Swansea-based artist. He is famous for painting luminaries including President Jimmy Carter and Margaret Atwood.

Notably, he painted Dylan Thomas at his home in Laugharne, just prior to the poet’s death. He has painted portraits of David Lloyd George for the Lloyd George Museum, Llanystumdwy. He held art teaching and lecturing posts for thirty years in London and Dyfed, and has been the Artist in Residence at the Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea since 1995.
