Universidad de Extremadura is located in South West Spain, bordering Portugal and you will be based on the Cáceres campus as an exchange student studying Spanish. The southern Spain climate is similar to a warm Mediterranean climate: hot days and cool nights with rainy springs and dry summers. The university has lots of sport and cultural societies for students to get involved with, ranging from basketball to dance, and there are also additional language courses if you’re looking to maximise your Spanish language learning! The university does not offer accommodation in halls of residences; exchange students have to look for private accommodation once they arrive in Extremadura. Students will be helped by the International Students Association in their search for housing, and will be given a list of contacts for shared flats.
