About

Diane Owen is currently a Senior Lecturer at the medical school, Swansea University. Diane does research in Medical Education, particularly around the areas of clinical communication skills and clinical skills acquisition. Their current project is 'Development of clinical reasoning via interactive consultation in undergraduate medicine'. Her interests lie in qualitative research, student perceptions of the curriculum and their acquisition of clinical acumen and reasoning.

As well as being a General Practitioner, she also holds a role as a SAS Dr in Emergency Medicine

PM-240F Doctor as a Practitioner 1

This module provides medical students with the foundation clinical skills required for the practice of medicine. Based on the professional skills domain of the GMC¿s Outcomes for Graduates (2020), and Outcomes for Graduates ¿ Practical Skills and Procedures (2020), this module enables students to develop their skills within a safe but clinically-focused environment.
PM-350D Doctor as a Practitioner 2

This module enables medical students to further develop their clinical and communication skills, building on the foundations they have learned in Year 1. This module provides medical students with the foundation clinical skills required for the practice of medicine.
