Dr Menna Brown is a Senior Lecturer within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. She teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate level with contributions across a range of programmes within Swansea University Medical School and The School of Health and Social care.

Menna has 15 years experience in health and wellbeing research in a medical context and has worked extensively with staff and patients from across NHS Wales and the Wales Deanery to undertake qualitative research looking at health and wellbeing in a range of professional, public sector and student contexts.

Menna completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology (BSc) and specialised in health psychology  (MSc) and health promotion and health behaviour change in a digital context at postgraduate level.  In 2021 she successfully completed her PhD studies in Medicine and Health Care at Swansea University Medical School. Her current research explores the role of emotional wellbeing in determining physical health outcomes in a digital health context. Her research interests include mental health and wellbeing, health promotion in a digital health context, public health issues, social prescribing and educational uses of digital technology.

Menna’s teaching interests include Health psychology, health promotion, health behaviour change, digital health, digital health innovation including gamification and public health. Therapeutic approaches to common mental disorders and qualitative research methods with a focus on Inductive Thematic Analysis.
