About

Dr Gareth Dunseath is a Senior Research Officer in the Diabetes Research Group, in Swansea University Medical School. In addition, Gareth is also the manager of the Good Clinical and Laboratory Practice accredited central laboratory facility based in the Grove building. Gareth gained his PhD entitled ‘pathophysiology of glucose intolerance’ from Swansea University Medical School as a staff candidate in 2017, investigating the twin defects of insulin resistance and beta-cell dysfunction in the progression of glucose intolerance.

Gareth has a long standing involvement in clinical trials in diabetes and related areas, with both the pharmaceutical industry and more recently with the devices and diagnostics industry. The latter has led to an interest in involvement in the development and validation of novel assays, tests and devices in the area of diabetes.
