About

Dr Ed Dudley is Programme Director for the BSc (Honours) and MSci (Honours) Undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry, Medical Biochemistry and Biochemistry and Genetics (Honours). He is an analytical biochemist with an interest in modern applications of proteomic and metabolomic techniques. 

His main research focus is in biomarker discovery including urinary modified nucleosides as prospective early diagnostic biomarkers of various cancers. Ed has also applied global unbiased biomarker discovery techniques to novel biomarker discovery in other diseases and disorders such as psychiatric conditions. Ed’s research sits across the “Devices” and the “‘Biomarkers and Genes’ Themes within the Medical School as the optimisation of mass spectrometric and allied techniques is also a main area of research.
