Many of our Computer Science courses have a year in industry option. This is popular with many of our students and they go on to gain invaluable work experience and develop both their computational skills and commercial awareness in a work environment. Students find placements both in and around Swansea, but many students go further afield, either to where their home address is or abroad. This year we have had students on placement in locations as diverse as Paris, Prague and Hong Kong.

When our students return from placement, they present to the next cohort to tell them about their experience and offer tips and advice. Students are also supported in their search for placements and get help with CVs, application forms and assessment centre interviews from our employability team. We visit all students on placement to ensure that they are happy and are developing their skills.
