The Department of Classics, Ancient History and Egyptology is a thriving research environment embedded in national and international networks of scholars. The Department is home to two research groups: KYKNOS, the Centre for Research in Ancient Narrative Literatures and OLCAP, the Research Group for Object and Landscape Centred Approaches to the Past. Our research strengths are in: Greek and Latin Literature; Greek and Roman History and Archaeology; the Archaeology, History and Culture of Egypt and Nubia; Ancient Philosophy; Cultural Property Protection in Conflict Zones.
