Group Overview

The Dynamic Ecology Group studies processes ranging from the level of cell ecophysiology (systems biology), through individual, population and community ecology, to whole ecosystems (systems ecology). Our research addresses the fundamental ecological processes of births, deaths, immigration and emigration, from conceptual through to applied levels, by investigating how interactions within and across biological scales of organisation are modified by environmental variation. We do this by combining mathematical, stochastic and statistical modelling approaches, merged with traditional field ecology and lab-based ’omic tools and skills.
