Genetic and epigenetic diversity in Mangrove killifish

Waldir

Waldir is investigating the role of epigenetic and genetic diversity on life history traits of mangrove killifishes (Kryptolebias marmoratus). These species represent the only two known examples of androdioecious mixed-mating system among vertebrates. Their populations are mainly composed by self-fertilsing hermaphrodites, which occasionally outcross with rare males. His project is funded through the Brazilian Science without Borders Programme.
