Kasper is investigating the possibilities of cultivating kelp in the Milford Haven Waterway. He is working on multiple aspects relating to this, such as cultivation of kelps in different salinities and nitrate concentrations, cryogenically storing kelp spores, and analysing historical data on water quality and biodiversity in Wales. He is funded by a KESS2 scholarship with support from the Milford Haven Port Authority.
