Travelling west on the M4 leave the motorway at Junction 42 and follow signs for Swansea on the A483 (Fabian Way). The Bay Campus will be on your left after the Amazon depot.
To get to Singleton Campus, continue on the A483. On crossing the River Tawe the A483 becomes the A4067. Continue west along this road, passing Sainsbury’s Superstore on the left-hand side of the road. After approximately 1.5 miles there is a footbridge over the road.
The main entrance lies just before the footbridge and is controlled by traffic lights. As you approach the lights, keep to the right-hand lane and prepare to turn right into the University.
On Singleton Campus, there is a Visitors’ Car Park immediately right of the main entrance. On Bay Campus, the visitor’s car park is to the left after the turn-off (left off Fabian Way going towards the city). At the latter we have 70 spaces available for delegates during the conference, with a day rate (08:00–18:00) of £3.50. There is a large Park-and-Ride site at Port Tennant east of Swansea opposite McDonalds on Fabian Way, open from 06:45 until 19:30, Monday to Saturday.
City centre car parks.
By Coach / Inter-city Bus:
Coach journeys (National Express/Megabus) terminate at the Quadrant Bus Station in Swansea city centre.
There is a train station in central Swansea which serves the National Rail lines. You can travel direct from London Paddington in approximately 3 hours, and from Manchester Piccadilly in 4.5 hours.
There is a taxi rank to the side of the train station. The taxi journey to either Campus will take around 10–15 minutes (traffic depending) and cost up to £10.
You can get to Singleton Campus by bus. The bus stop is situated on the High Street next to the train station. The #4, #4A, and #10 go directly from Swansea Train Station to Singleton Campus.
Swansea Railway Station is a 15 minute walk down the High Street, Oxford Street, and Plymouth Street (turning left at the Eli Jenkins Pub) from the Bus Station. One can also go through the Quadrant Shopping Centre to reach the Bus Station.
First Cymru runs several services which stop at Singleton Campus, the City Centre Bus Station, and the Bay Campus. These include the #8 service, which links all three, and the #10 service which links Singleton and Bay Campus but goes via the Railway not the Bus Station. On Singleton Campus these stop outside the main University building, Fulton House, as does the #3A from the Bus Station. The #2 from the Bus Station stops at the main entrance to the Singleton Campus on Oystermouth Road.
First Cymru’s day pass is the most economical way to obtain a ticket. If you buy this on a bus it will cost £4.70. Individual journeys cost around £3.
PLEASE NOTE that the #8 and #10 bus will NOT be running on the conference Sunday, 19 April. The X10 (which ends up in Cardiff) will run from Swansea City Bus Station to Fabian Way Bay Campus Bus Stop, a ca. 8–10 minute walk to reach the Conference venue. We are providing coaches to the Bay Campus from the Bus Station in the morning and back in the evening on Saturday and Sunday, and back in the afternoon on Monday, with more coaches on the Sunday.
