"The course is very broad and offered a variety of modules. As a result, it was possible to choose a suitable path within the media. The lecturers also provided a lot of support during my time there. Studying the modules in Welsh meant that there was more choice and support available. I also  built up a great relationship with the lecturers.

"I had the opportunity to do a lot of work experience with various production companies including work experience with ITV for two weeks. After finishing my second year, I went to America for a month to study 'Media and Communication Technologies in the USA'. This was a great opportunity!

"After graduating I started my career as an administrator with one of the companies I’d visited on work experience during my studies. Since then I've been developing my career within the company. Work experience is vital to those who want to venture into a particular area. I definitely advise it!"

"Choosing to study Media opens many doors to students. I had no experience before starting the course and I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year. I’ve just finished a period of work experience as a researcher for BBC Radio Wales where I was with Eleri Sion’s team for one week and with Jason Mohammad’s team the next. It was a fantastic experience! The help I received from the University was essential to secure the amazing work experience placement, that was second to none.

"It is very much like home here at the University and I've settled very quickly thanks to the staff at Academi Hywel Teifi who are extremely friendly and happy to help. I'm very glad that I chose to study at Swansea .

"In the future I would like to present programs on S4C or BBC but my ambition would be to present on BBC Formula 1."
