'It's important that my generation and others understand war'

"The course has been good. The subjects can be difficult sometimes but at the same time the more I study, the more I find that it is important that my generation and other post-war generations understand war. The lecturers are very good. I am an international student and need more help so have asked them to help a lot, especially with essays and exams. They are supportive. I am glad I chose to study at Swansea University. The course is good and the location is nice. I love Swansea now.”

"War and Society is a course that allows a wide area of study from Ancient Greek warfare through to warfare in the nuclear age. I have undertaken modules in American studies, History, Classics and Politics during my years at Swansea due to the flexible nature of the course. Due to the small numbers in War and Society each student gets a large amount of attention from the lectures when compared to larger courses, this means that it is easier to understand topics. I would highly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in any aspect of warfare."

"I particularly enjoyed the wide variety of modules on offer for the course, spanning the whole of history from ancient warfare right up to modern day warfare. The small number of people within the course allowed us to form a much more personal relationship with fellow students as well as with course tutors and the course director."
