Obituary: General E.T. Dalton, C.S.I. Proceedings of the Royal geographical Society and Monthly Record of Geography, Volume 3, Issue 2 (Feb., 1881), 109. General E.T. Dalton, C.S.I. – The death is announced of Major-General Edward Tuite Dalton, C.S.I., who entered the army in 1835, and took part in expeditions against the frontier tribes of Assam in 1839-40 and in 1842. When two French missionaries, M.M. Kirk and Bourry, had been murdered on the Tibetan frontier by a Mishmi chief, General Dalton received much praise for his skill in organising the expedition which captured the murderer. Our associate died at Cannes, on December 30th, In the sixty-fifth year of his age. Major-General Edward Tuite Dalton C.S.I.
