Swansea University - Mental Health and Wellbeing

Mental Health and Wellbeing

You may experience a range of new pressures and stresses whilst also having to adapt to lifestyle and environment changes

You can access support from the Wellbeing Service whether you currently experience mental distress, have done so before starting a course or if you experience mental distress for the first time whilst you are here.  You can use the service at any point in your academic journey. The Service includes a Wellbeing Co-ordinator as well as student Counsellors.  Many students who experience mental health difficulties find it helpful to contact the service as soon as possible after arrival. The support offered is flexible and designed to suit your particular needs.  You may want to have counselling, or you may want regular supportive contact and for someone to liaise with your academic department to help ensure you have any reasonable adjustments which may be appropriate and/or liaison with your GP or Community Mental Health Team. In certain situations, you may be offered a professional mentor to help you to achieve your full academic potential.
