If you study at least 50% of an equivalent full time HE course you can apply for a Part Time Grant (PTG) from Student Finance Wales via your Local Authority. The PTG is a means tested grant based on the household income of you (and of your partner), and consists of:-

  • a fee grant of up to £690 towards your fee costs (paid direct to the University)
  • a course grant of up to £1155 towards your travel expenses and course materials (paid direct to you)

You do not need to repay the grant for any academic year you complete.

Note:

  • if you already have a first degree will not be eligible for PTG support
  • you are expected to complete your studies within six years of commencing as funding is normally only available for six years and any additional periods may need to be paid by you.
