Environmental engineers will play an increasingly important role in determining our standard of living and quality of life. Their activities will seek to make best use of resources with particular emphasis on sustainable systems during a period of rapid change and development.

Environmental Engineering at Swansea in closely related to the chemical and biological processes engineering schemes which received the ‘Excellent’ teaching quality rating in the national Teaching Quality Assessment.
Our schemes provide knowledge of physical, chemical and biological processes and encourage development of the analytical and creative skills necessary for the economic and safe design, safe operation and management of sustainable systems.
We welcome applications from international students to either level 1 or 2. Those who have completed an equivalent Level 1 accredited scheme in Chemical Engineering with a minimum score of 55% will be eligible for direct entry to Level 2 of the BEng schemes with the option to transfer to the MEng scheme at Level 3.
BEng: ABB-BBB at A level (including Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry), or 32 at IB (including at least 4 at HL Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry).
MEng: AAA-AAB at A level (including Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry), or 34 at IB (including at least 5 at HL Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry).
If you do not have these qualifications, you can consider applying for the Integrated Foundation Year scheme, H101.
Students with industrial experience and qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

If you are applying for Level Two (second year) entry, in order to be considered, you will need to have already covered the topics offered in Swansea at Level One in a certified qualification, with a high overall score.
