The University and College Union (UCU) represents over 120,000 academics, researchers,  professional services staff, computer staff, librarians and postgraduates in universities and colleges across the UK. UCU campaigns nationally for improved pay and working conditions, including permanent contracts, fair career progression, adequate staffing and resources and gender and race equality.

At Swansea University membership gives you access to advice, support and personal representation on the whole range of employment issues (e.g. workload, job security, probation, promotion, extension of fixed-term contracts, complaints and grievances, bullying and harassment, flexible working, maternity/paternity leave, pensions). These services are exclusive to members and UCU cannot deal with cases arising before someone becomes a member.

If you are not already a member, you can join online via the JOIN tab above. Subscriptions are on a sliding scale according to salary and are tax-deductible.
