Erasmus+ Student Mobility Grants - Inbound

‌‌‌Swansea University is offering 10 Erasmus+ awards of up to €5,070 each to students from selected Texas partner universities who participate in study broad to Swansea University in the academic year 2017/18. 

These are available to students from the following universities who undertake a semester of study abroad as part of the reciprocal student exchange with Swansea University:

  • University of Houston
  • University of Texas at Austin
  • Texas A&M University

How to Apply

  • Students will need to apply directly to their home University in Texas.
  • Their home University will also be able to advise on eligibility, terms and conditions and application deadlines.

National Welsh-American Foundation Exchange Scholarship

The National Welsh-American Foundation Exchange Scholarship programme provides an opportunity for North Americans to apply for an award of up to $5,000 to study in Wales.

  • Scope: Facilitation of cultural exchange between North America and Wales.
  • Welsh ethnic connections: Not essential but a connection with Wales is an important asset.
  • Eligibility: Those aspiring to Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees or equivalent at recognized academic institutions in Wales. Application must be supported by the host institution.
  •  Awarded summer 2017 based on competition and sufficient merit.

How to Apply

In it you will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Educational history, academic record and career achievements
  • Project proposal defining its concept and specific goals
  • Your long-term career objectives
  • How will you be prepared to use the results of his/her project to work with the Foundation to meet its objectives of facilitating the exchange of common culture, history and values of the two nations?

You should aslo submit with your application:

  •  A full curriculum vitae / resume
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A letter from the host institution indicating the suitability of the applicant’s proposal to their course of study
  • A specific indication of estimated costs associated with the applicant’s program

National Welsh-American Foundation Lloyd Travel Scholarship

The National Welsh-American Foundation's Lloyd Family Travel Scholarship provides an opportunity to apply for an award of up to $1,000 to cover travel-related expenses to Wales in undertaking studies related to Welsh-American history and culture.

  • Scope: Facilitation of cultural exchange between North America and Wales.
  • Welsh ethnic connections: Not essential but a connection with Wales is an important asset.
  • Eligibility: Those aspiring to Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees or equivalent at recognized academic institutions. Application must be supported by the host institution. Financial need must be documented.
  • Awarded Summer 2017 based on competition and sufficient merit.

You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Educational history, academic record and career achievements
  • Project proposal defining its concept and specific goals
  • Your long-term career objectives
  • How will you be prepared to use the results of your project to work with the Foundation to meet its objectives of facilitating the exchange of common culture, history and values of the two nations?

You should also submit with your application:

  • A full curriculum vitae / resume
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A letter from the host institution indicating the suitability of your proposal to your course of study
  • A specific indication of estimated costs associated with your program
  • Documentation of financial need establishing that you would not be able to pursue the opportunity to study abroad without additional financial support. This need may be documented by submission of a FAFSA or current tax return (yours, if you are a graduate applicant; that of your parents if you are an undergraduate student)
