Student Swansea Events

Our Students’ Union organises student events across the year.

One of the year's highlights is the festival-style Summer Ball, which takes place on the University's Abbey Meadow and regularly attracts big acts - headliners this year included Netsky, The Feeling and Eva Lazarus.

Another highpoint is the Welsh Varsity Challenge - the second largest of the British varsity games (behind Oxford/Cambridge). Thousands of Swansea University students - our 'Green and White Army' - travel to compete and support our teams in Cardiff, making Varsity the biggest social event of the year.

In addition to organised events, the Students’ Union runs the bars on both campuses; JCs, Rebound and Tafarn Tawe, while central Swansea has a wide range of venues along the city’s main strip, Wind Street.

...And not forgetting the Taliesin Arts Centre, our on-campus cinema, performance space and gallery, which hosts a busy programme of events throughout the year.
