    This module covers the key concepts of holistic care and considers the processes involved in holistic assessment and care. The importance of team working will also be explored, as well as skills required to support patients and their families.

  • SHG3078 Physical Health Issues in Adult Mental Health Practice

    The aim of the module is to equip health and social care professionals to respond to the physical health needs of adults with mental health problems, as this client group has high levels of morbidity and mortality. The module aims to better equip staff to work between primary and secondary care to ensure that the range of health needs are met. During the module there will be opportunities for staff to develop physical healthcare assessment skills and engage in health promotion strategies. The module may be taken as a stand-alone module or as part of the BSc Mental Disorder pathway.

  • SHHM55 Introduction to Research, Evidence based Practice and Reflection for Physicians Associates

    This module will be a compulsory module within the MSc / Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) Physician┬┐s Associate Studies and reflects compulsory curriculum content. The module aims to introduce students to the main research paradigms including the principles of research, and the ability to appraise research to provide an evidence base for their personal practice. Students will also be introduced to reflective practice and its value in enabling reflection on clinical learning and the development of clinical competence.
