  • SHG246 Working With Individuals who have Dementia Type Illness and their Carers

    This module aims to take a holistic approach to working with people who have dementia and their carers. The impact of dementia in terms of losses experienced by younger people who have dementia (under 65 years of age), older people who have dementia (aged over 65 years) and their families or carers will be explored. Assessment strategies, therapeutic interventions and the legal and ethical issues relevant to dementia care will be considered.

    This module will continue to develop the student¿s practical skills in midwifery and will take place on placement with mentors in midwifery and other health care settings.

  • SHN281 Comparative Health Care

    This module will enable international students on the BSc (Hons) Professional Nursing Studies (2 Year Option) to undertake a short clinical placement in a healthcare setting in Wales. This experience should enable students to compare health care delivery between practice in their home country and Wales.

  • SHN3024 Consolidating Mental Health Nursing

    This module is designed to provide the student with an understanding of issues related to practice beyond that of a branch specific perspective. This module aims to develop the students understanding of their managerial role as a qualified nurse including their understanding of this role in relation to accountability, social policy implications for practice, and their role as an educator for the development of self and others.
