After graduating from Aberystwyth University’s Drama Department, followed by a postgraduate diploma course with the London Arts Educational Schools’ Acting Company, he embarked on an early career as an actor, working on a range of theatre, television, film and radio productions. He developed his interest on the production side of television and trained as a director, working on a number of music, light entertainment and children's programmes. He received an unexpected offer to work as a guest lecturing director on a theatre project at Trinity College, and there he remained for a decade, soon being appointed to the post of Head of the School of Theatre, Music and Media within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Over the years, he has lectured on a wide range of areas: from performance to scripting (in various media), as well as directing for the stage and screen. He was also responsible for the creation, scripting, adapting and translation of a number of diverse productions over the years, and his productions have toured both nationally and abroad. He initially joined Academi Hywel Teifi's Creative Media lecturing team, but now holds the post of Business and Development Manager for Learn Welsh Swansea Bay Region.
