Specialist Subjects: Law and Practice of the World Trade Organization, International Economic Law, Regulation of Public Procurement
My interests lie in the fields of World Trade Law and International Economic Law. These interests developed from work on the international regulation of government procurement. More recent work has focused on various aspects of the extent to which WTO disciplines infiltrate and impose demands on the legal systems of its Members. As an example, my article in the Journal of World Trade Law considers the balance struck in the case law between trade and non-trade objectives such as protecting public health. I am also interested in the process and objectives of WTO dispute settlement and some of my forthcoming work will consider the modern relevance of foundational concepts such as ‘nullification or impairment’.
