Specialist Subjects: Computational stochastic modelling, solutions of large linear equation systems and Markov chains, communication systems, parallel and distributed computing systems
Rashid currently holds a lectureship in Communication Networks within C2EC, School of Engineering, Swansea University.
Rashid completed his PhD research in 2003 at University of Birmingham and moved to the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory where he spent two years as a (post-doctoral) Research Associate within the Networks and Operating Systems research group. Earlier he obtained an MSc in Computation from University of Oxford, MBA with majors in Marketing and Bachelors in Electronics Engineering from Pakistan. During 1995-99, he gained industrial experience working on engineer and managerial level positions in process instrumentation, electrical power generation/distribution, PABX and security systems.
Rashid Mehmood has research interests in computational stochastic modelling, software and hardware formal verification, solutions of large linear equation systems and Markov chains, intelligent transport systems, communication networks and systems, parallel computing, Grid and distributed systems.
