Swansea Performance Centre

The Swansea Performance Centre is the brainchild of Swim Wales and allows the programmes based at Wales National Pool to compete under one banner at both Domestic and International levels.

The Performance Centre includes two British Swimming Intensive training Groups coached by Bud Mc Allister and Graham Bassi.

Bud has been selected to the coaching staff for the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai along with three Swansea Performance Swimmers.

Graham has seen one of his athletes selected to represent Wales at this the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Isle of Mann. The Swim Wales and University Programme has also seen one athlete selected to represent Wales at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games in the Isle of Mann.

British Disbality Swimming also support the Performance Centre with Head Coach Billy Pye and no fewer than six of his swimmers being selected for the 2011 IPC European Championships in Berlin.

All groups work closely together giving swimmers the opportunity to tap into the expertise of all coaches throughout the season.

Training times

The programme has 20+ hours of quality pool time available year round. All sessions are run by Swim Wales High Performance Coach Stuart McNarry, with eight of the tensessions being swum long Course,  and two short course sessions. Session times are listed below:


Monday:    6:00-8:00am, 5:30-7:30pm

Tuesday:    6:00-8:00am, 5:30-7:30pm (25m)

Wednesday:     6:00-8:00am, 5:30-7:30pm

Thursday:    OFF, 5:30-7:30pm (25m)

Friday:        6:00-8:00am, 5:30-7:30pm

Saturday:    9:30-11:30am
