The 15th IFIP Conference will be held at Swansea University’s brand new Bay Campus located on the majestic sweep of Swansea Bay and within easy reach of the vibrant City Centre. As an industrial powerhouse of the 19th century, Swansea and the surrounding areas are rich in history which can be explored in a number of local museums. To the west of the City is the Gower Peninsula where you can find Rhossili Bay voted Britain’s Best Beach and 9th best in the world by TripAdvisors Travellers’ Choice.
Getting to Swansea
The closest airports are Cardiff International (about one hour away) and Bristol International Airport (just under two hours) Delegates can also fly to London, and go to Swansea via bus or by train.
Regular trains from London Paddington, South Wales, and the rest of the UK arrive at Swansea High Street Station. The journey from London is a direct route and takes approximately three hours.
There is a regular bus service that connects Swansea Railway Station to the University Bay Campus.
Swansea is easily accessible by motorway, and the Bay Campus site is just off Junction 42 on the M4. Delegates staying in students residences on-site will be able to utilise the staff car park during their stay
National Express Coaches and the Greyhound Swansea-Cardiff services run into the Quadrant Bus station in the city centre. There are excellent bus links between the centre of Swansea and the Bay Campus, and takes approximately 12 minutes.
