As a member of the SoM alumni community, you can:
Become a mentor to current students - As a mentor, you will be working alongside your student to strengthen their competencies, support their career progression and enhance their graduate skills. Typically, the student will be prepared with an agenda based on his or her own career development needs. It will be your role to provide support to enable the student to progress their career plan.
Submit a case study - We are always looking for stories from our alumni on how they have progressed after leaving University.
Attend alumni events - We hold bi-annual alumni events where you are invited back to talk to our current students about life after graduation. You are welcome to attend this event and complete a talk about your journey into the working world or just network with students answering any questions they may have.
Advertise current vacancies - Are you working for a company that is looking for graduates or placement students? Please get in touch to promote any roles you may have! You are welcome to come into meet the students through a variety of ways including mock interviews and assessment centres!
If you would like to take part in any of these activities please contact Jessica Loomba.
Martina Uikyte - Associate Director, Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking
I graduated Swansea University in 2009 with a degree in BA Business Management. I started my career in Investment Banking with an internship at a German bank where I spent my summer learning about the financial markets and back office operations. I really enjoyed my summer placement and it confirmed to me I wanted a career in Financial Markets.
I went on to take a graduate placement at an Inter-Dealer Broker in London followed by a 3 year job opportunity in Singapore which allowed me to work internationally across the APAC region and markets. I have since come back to London and now work in FX sales looking after the UK market.
