Students studying a BSc in Business Management degree are given the opportunity to complete a project set by one of our external partners. Tell us what your requirements are, and we can provide you with a group of up to 5 of our brightest minds to produce tangible, usable results that you can utilise to resolve a real-time business need. Previous successful projects have included:

If your organisation has a short-term vacancy that needs to be filled or project work, why not take advantage of our Year in Industry Placements scheme. Placements run for 12 months and during that year the student will take full advantage to showcase their abilities, embracing the opportunity to work on a project and fully immersing themselves within your company. They gain greater knowledge and real-world experience, you gain a bright and ambitious mind to help you generate new ideas and potentially find a future graduate recruit.

In order to provide our students with the best opportunities to improve their employability, we also encourage shorter summer placements or internships.

Student placements can:

• support and undertake short or fixed term project work.
• offer specialist knowledge and an external viewpoint to the business over the duration of the partnership.
• give a business the chance to see potential employees in action before making hiring decisions.

Mentoring is a powerful tool which can help students gain insight into the world of work. It also develops their employability skills and confidence needed for future careers and provides essential guidance for personal development.

Why become a mentor?
A mentoring partnership can be a personally and professionally enriching experience. Helping our students develop their work related skills offers huge potential for personal satisfaction, an opportunity to grow your own leadership, communication skills and give back to the community.

How long does the scheme last?
The scheme runs for 6 months from October to March and we recommend that mentee and mentor have two hours of contact per month for the duration of the scheme and whenever possible should include face to face meetings. The mentoring partnership can be extended beyond this at your discretion and by mutual agreement.
