Swansea scientists researching genetic diversity of Sri Lankan butterflies

The Nation (Sri Lanka) reports that a grant from the National Research Council Sri Lanka has led to a new research study investigating the genetic diversity of butterfly species in Sri Lanka.

A team of researchers from the Department of Zoology at The Open University of Sri Lanka, with the collaboration of field experts from Sri Lanka and scientists from Swansea University, will establish a butterfly genetic database for three genes located in the mitochondrial and nuclear genomes of selected Sri Lankan species.
