Sikkim 2 The first Sikkim field course took place in September 2011.  This innovative final-year module brings together physical geographers, human geographers and bioscientists in the remote NE Indian region of Sikkim, in the foothills of the Himalayas.  The students had an amazing experience, working together on projects investigating environmental issues in this rapidly developing part of India.  They were there during a major earthquake, which caused damage and disruption in parts of the region, but all the students and staff were safe!  Places on the module are awarded competitively to 5 physical geographers, 5 human geographers and 10 bioscientists, on the basis of a written proposal and a short interview, and students have already been selected for the module in September 2012.
