Research as Art Competition

Swansea University Research Forum (SURF), supported by the Bridging the Gaps programme, coordinates an annual competition celebrating the diversity and beauty of academic research.

The 'Research as Art' competition invites images from across the University, that are inspired by, or have themselves inspired, research.  It is the only competition open to researchers from all fields, staff and students alike.

The 2012 competition attracted over 100 images and abstracts from across the University.  These were reviewed by a high-profile judging panel, who whittled entries down to the most striking images and engaging abstracts.

In January 2013, the 2012 Research as Art images were exhibited at The Royal Institution, London.

Dr Ele Fisher and Professor Tavi Murray from Geography, as well as Dr Rebecca Scott from Biosciences were runners up. Read more: http://www.swan.ac.uk/research/surf/art-competition/
