• MEWN Swansea

The aim of MEWN Swansea is to provide support for black and ethnic minority women and to develop an agenda of action to counter the barriers to form full participation in the Welsh work force and the community. 

• Connect Project

This project assists people with mental health disorders.  Interns exercise a variety of creative skills from ceramics and cookery to computer skills, carpentry and aromatherapy. Would suit an education, psychology or social work major.

• Cwmbwrla Day Centre

The Day Center offers people with mental health disorders opportunities to develop creative skills through cookery and ceramics, carpentry and computing.  Would suit an education, psychology or social work major.

• INVOLVE

This is an organisation which recruits, trains and supports a network of volunteers to work with individuals who have difficulty forming and maintaining relationships with people in the community. Volunteers assist clients in social activities such as going to the cinema, theatre, shopping, or even learning new work skills.  Would suit a psychology or social work major.

• Tai Esgyn Housing Project

This project provides supported accommodation for psychologically disadvantaged members of the community.  Tenants are housed within the community and their welfare regularly monitored by the members of the organisation. Interns receive an overview of the organisation and shadow personnel in the course of their duties. Would suit a psychology or social work major.

• Wallich Clifford Community has two opportunities for interns:-
  • Swansea Rough Sleepers Intervention: Interns work-shadow staff who work with people who are homeless and sleeping rough in Swansea.  They provide breakfast early morning and offer people a place to cook food and wash clothes.
  • Dinas Fechan Hostel: The hostel provides temporary accommodation for fifteen homeless people who are given advice and support on a range of issues from substance misuse, mental health issues, resettlement, access to training and education.  Interns work alongside staff.

• West Glamorgan Housing Consortium

Provides supported accommodation and other services for people with learning disabilities who wish to live in the community. Tenants are offered support shaped to meet their personal needs. Interns receive an overview of the organisation and assist with most activities. Would suit an education, psychology, social work major.

• Chaplaincy, Swansea University

Interns can assist in the day to day activities of the university chaplaincy based in Fulton House.

• Red Cafe

Red Cafe is a vibrant and exciting youth project in Swansea.
