PRE-SESSIONAL COURSE IN LONDON

This popular course will provide a flavour of the British capital city and is a fun and enlightening way to start your visit to the UK.

Union Jack

This exciting programme has been a huge success since its introduction in the Fall of 2005. Students enroll on the Swansea University Module AMX-315 : British Culture and Politics which is worth 10 credits (3 US credits).

Trafalger Square

The course is delivered by the Foundation for International Education, and is taught over 3 weeks, before the start of the semester in Swansea. The course reflects the wealth of historical, cultural and social opportunities offered by one of the world’s major capital cities and incorporates trips to world class museums, galleries, religious and cultural centres. At the end of the course students will be transferred directly to Swansea to continue the semester.

  • Housing: Student housing is provided in comfortable shared rooms within walking distance of the Foundation of International Education. The area is renowned for its impressive architecture, proximity to Hyde Park, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants, also one of the safest residential areas in London.  Students control their food budgets and enjoy the flexibility of either cooking their own meals or eating out.

  • Costs: The London Experience includes tuition (3 credits/10 Swansea credit points), housing (shared rooms), a travel pass for zone 1, transfer to Swansea, cultural events and field trips. Participants cover their own costs for: airfare, insurance, meals, personal expenses (telephone, social life, extra travel), books and supplies. Please contact Angela Jones at the Study Abroad Office, Swansea for full details.
