The Director of Swansea University's Global Drug Policy Observatory makes the shortlist for the 2015 Awards.
The Scientific Paper Award, inaugurated in 2011 by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) and its Scientific Committee, celebrates scientific writing and distinguishes high-quality research in the field of illicit drugs. Scientific papers judged to enhance understanding of the European drugs problem are acknowledged yearly in an award ceremony.
Swansea University's Professor David Bewley-Taylor’s paper, ‘Legitimacy and modernity via policy transfer: The utility of the 2003 Afghan National Drug Control Strategy’ (2014), published in the International Journal of Drug Policy (25, 5, p.1009-1118), was shortlisted for this prestigious award.
