'The Greatest Need', a biography of Welsh Jewis author Lily Tobias, to be launched on Wednesday 22 April 2015.
Swansea University's Creative Writing Senior Lecturer Jasmine Donahaye’s important new biography of the Welsh Jewish author Lily Tobias, The Greatest Need will be launched at The Cameo Club in Cardiff this coming Wednesday, along with the new edition of Tobias’s 1931 novel, My Mother’s House, republished by Honno.
Jasmine Donahaye talks about the first biography of Lily Tobias, (1887-1984) a courageous, idealistic Jewish woman from Wales who wrote compellingly about Jewish life and experience in the 20th century, the writing of which took her on a journey through passionate politics, embattled identity and secrets.
The event will be hosted by Daniel Williams, Director of the Richard Burton Centre at Swansea University.
Venue: The Cameo Club, Pontcanna Street, Cardiff.
