'Storm ar Wyneb yr Haul' (Barddas Publications) is a record of a particular period, from Caernarfon to Cardiff, from Oxford to Ireland and beyond. This volume is the first in the series of collections by Barddas Publications which provides a platform for bright young poets.

Llyr LewisOriginally from Caernarfon, Dr Lewis won the chair in the Urdd Eisteddfod in Llannerchaeron in 2010, and again in Swansea in 2011. Some of his poems have previously been published in Welsh-language literature magazines such as Taliesin, Tu Chwith, and Barddas, however, 'Storm ar Wyneb yr Haul' is the first collection of his work.

During the book launch, the Chaired Bard, Llion Jones, will discuss the collection with Dr Lewis, and there will be an opportunity to enjoy some live music.

Dr Lewis, who was appointed as a Welsh lecturer in Academi Hywel Teifi via the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Academic Staffing Scheme in 2013, said:

Storm ar Wyneb yr Haul'This relatively concise collection offers a glimpse into a specific period. Many of the poems mention time spent travelling in Ireland and Europe, some about Cardiff and Caernarfon, and others have more of a personal feel belonging to them.

Thematically, a number of the poems revolve around the images associated with radio, and so perhaps that’s what these poems are seeking to do - which is to find the right wavelength.'

Prior to the launch in Palas Print, Dr Lewis will provide a taster for his new collection in the Bedwen Lyfrau in Nantgwrtheyrn at 3pm, Saturday 3 May 2014.
