Professor Stevie Davies and Professor Dai Smith to launch new titles at a special event to be held at the Dylan Thomas Centre on Thursday 16 May at 7 pm.
On Thursday 16 May 2013, Parthian will launch new titles by Professor Stevie Davies and Professor Dai Smith.
Multi-award winning Stevie Davies launches her latest book, Awakening: one year after Darwin's explosive publication of The Origin of Species, sisters Anna and Beatrice Pentecost awaken to a world shattered by science, radicalism and the stirrings of feminist rebellion.
Library of Wales series editor Dai Smith discusses his fiction debut, Dream On, a complex composite novel that is part black comedy and flashlight noir thriller, part meditation on the stories that connect the frayed wires in the business of living. He also introduces the latest title in the Library of Wales series, James Hanley's A Kingdom.
Stevie Davies is a novelist, literary critic, biographer and historian. She is Professor of Creative Writing at Swansea University, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and a Fellow of the Academi Gymreig
Dai Smith is the Raymond Williams Chair in Cultural History within CREW, Swansea University. He is also Chair of the Arts Council of Wales.
The launch event will be held at the Dylan Thomas Centre on Thursday 16 May 2013 at 7 pm.
Free entry and wine. All welcome.
