The broadcast of the BBC Wales series The Story of Wales and the publication of three major new books on Welsh history by Manchester University Press offer a perfect opportunity to reflect on the process and purpose of writing about the Welsh past.
The Department of History and Classics at Swansea University is to host an event at Swansea University where a panel of historians, chaired by Professor Peter Stead, will discuss how Welsh history is written, why it matters and the impact it can have.
It will be held at Swansea University on Wednesday 28 March, starting at 5.30 pm and takes place in the Wallace Lecture Theatre, Wallace Building. There will be a wine reception in the foyer from 4.30 pm, where displays from historical research and resources available at Swansea University can be viewed.
This event is supported by the Richard Burton Centre for the Study of Wales.
Any enquiries should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org, tel 01792 295190.
Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
