Annual Summer Symposium

 ‘Order and Chaos’

Swansea University, 5-6 June 2014

The History & Classics Postgraduate Forum at Swansea University will be hosting the annual Postgraduate Symposium this June. The theme for the conference is ‘Order and Chaos’, and we welcome submissions from all disciplines for papers that broadly relate to this area. The aim for the annual symposium is to provide a supportive atmosphere for postgraduates to present their research to a friendly audience.

Our department includes postgraduates and lecturers that research periods from Ancient Egypt through to the present day, addressing subjects ranging from theology to politics, science, gender, industrialisation and literature, to name but a few. We are eager for this plurality to be replicated in our conference.

We have normally been able to provide the conference free of charge and with grants available to cover reasonable travel costs for attendance. We are confident that we will be able to do the same this year.

We welcome proposals both from individuals and for sessions. For individual papers, please send your name, University affiliation, paper title, 5-6 key words, and an abstract of no more than 300 words to:

swanseaphf@gmail.com

The deadline for submission is 5pm on Friday 14 March, 2014.
