The Research Institute for Arts and Humanities (RIAH) brings together academics, postgraduates and visiting national and international scholars to create a rich and vibrant research environment geared to international excellence and impact.
Supporting areas of research strength, RIAH comprises two 'flagship' University research centres, the Callaghan Centre for the Study of Conflict, Power and Empire and the Richard Burton Centre for the Study of Wales, as well as the Graduate Centre for Arts and Humanities, a range of Research Groups and a growing number of externally funded Research Projects.

The publication of The Richard Burton Diaries, edited by Chris Williams (Yale University Press), unveils, for the first time in their entirety in one volume, the surviving diaries of Richard Burton.
